今年１月に常設展示として新しく加わったクラゲ万華鏡トンネルが、12月27日までの期間限定で、映像×音楽×アロマが融合したまったく新しい空間に変身しました。
壁と天井に約5000枚の鏡が敷き詰められた、このクラゲ万華鏡トンネル内の8つのクラゲ水槽や壁面に、蜷川実花さんが撮影した作品を投影する、水族館とアートのコラボレーション。空間に広がる香りはこの空間のためだけにエアアロマの調香師が特別に調香したものです。
今回の空間は、写真家・映画監督である蜷川実花さんが、映像、音楽はもちろんエアアロマの香りも自ら選んで決定しトータルプロデュースした、ここだけでしか体験できないオリジナリティ溢れる世界となっています。
昼バージョン：蜷川実花さんの代名詞とも言える極彩色溢れる昼の空間。南国の花や海、空などのカラフルな映像に合わせて調香したのは、すっきりとした甘さの余韻が特徴的な「華やかで幸福感あふれる」フレグランス。ふと気づくと、キラキラ輝く万華鏡の中で漂っているような感覚になります。
夜バージョン：夜18:30からは東京の夜景やスカイツリー、渋谷のスクランブル交差点といった都会の映像が映し出され、ガラリと雰囲気が変わります。アーティスティックでシックな夜の空間に合わせたのは「蒼く澄んだクール」な香り。ふわふわ漂うクラゲの背景に映し出される都会の喧噪、どこかノスタルジックなモノクロームの世界に引き込まれます。
昼と夜で変わる音楽は、アーティストJoiさんによって今回の空間のために書き下ろされた曲たち。 “甘く官能的なChillout、浮遊感溢れるDubっぽい曲、揺らめくSlow Jazz （- Joi's Blogより）” 。
ゆったりと漂うクラゲの影が映し出される映像に、音と香りが加わり、その時間、その場所でしか体験することのできない五感を刺激する今回の空間。ぜひ足を運んでみてはいかがでしょうか。

An Original Scent Experience “Mika Ninagawa x Sumida Aquarium”
The Jellyfish Kaleidoscope Tunnel became a permanent exhibition at Tokyo’s Sumida Aquarium this past January, and now until December 27th, visitors can enjoy a special collaborative presentation of video, music, and aromas, sure to be a delight to all the senses.
Approximately 5,000 mirrors are installed in the tunnel, and eight of the jellyfish tanks and walls will showcase video clips of internationally recognized photographer Mika Ninagawa’s photography. Special scents have been designed just for this space by Air Aroma’s own perfumer.
This collaboration has been produced in its entirety by photographer and film director Mika Ninagawa, who has selected the video, music, and Air Aroma scents to create a world like no other.
Daytime Version: Mika Ninagawa’s famously vivid colors fill the space during daytime hours. Colorful images and videos of tropical flowers, ocean and skies are accompanied by a vibrant, joyous fragrance that leaves a sweet impression. Visitors are transported to a different world, as if they themselves are floating inside a kaleidoscope.
Nighttime Version: Every night at 6:30pm, the mood of the tunnel transforms as the daytime colors are replaced by images of Shibuya’s busy crossing and other monochromatic sights from the city. A clear, cool fragrance has been designed to match the artistic and chic space, transporting visitors to a busy and somewhat nostalgic city.
The music, written specifically for this collaboration by the artist Joi, also transitions between day and night. He introduces the music on his blog as “sweet and sensual chill-out music, floating dub-like music, and swaying slow jazz.” (Translated from Joi’s Blog)
